From 2016 to 2020, I have been a member of the Tenor section in DkIT Choir. This consisted of two concerts a year alongside additional performances on open days, external non-graded performances and mass recordings. I have had a total of seven official concerts with DkIT Choir and will be performing my last concert on April 21st 2020.
Through DkIT Choir I have performed during a St. Patrick’s Day Special with Daniel O’Donnell back in 2019 at Armagh. This consisted of a rehearsal, recording, and three pieces to perform.
I also got to take part in Beyond The Music’s re-imagining of U2’s The Joshua Tree album with choir and orchestra. This was an incredible experience and it was nice to be able to work with such talented professional musicians in Glass House Orchestra.
I have had the blessing of being in DkIT Choir for 4 years, and through it I have gained so many important skills such as ear-training, sight-singing, choral blending, warm-up techniques, how to train a choir, etc. This training is irreplaceable and has made me a highly competent choral singer.
